Russian Cream

Ingredients:
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup whipping cream or half and half
  • 1½ cups sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions:
  1. In a small pan blend together sugar and gelatin. Add water, mix let stand about 5 minutes.
  2. Bring to a full boil, stirring. Remove from heat and pour in whipping cream.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix sour cream wit vanilla. Gradually, smoothly beat in the hot sugar mixture.
  4. Pour into 8 individual dishes or a 4-cup mold or serving bowl. Cover and chill about 4 hours. Serve with strawberries and plain cookies if desired.
